There comes a time in one’s practice when the basics are no longer the edge—when your body—and your being—know how to listen, and the Mystery begins to speak more clearly.
After three years of holding a continuous Latihan in Austin, a beautiful community has emerged—one that lives the foundations of the practice and feels the call to go deeper.
Church of the Mystery is for you.
This advanced Latihan will include:
✨A shorter “sermon-style” introduction instead of a full explanation of the practice
✨An extended time in Latihan
✨Space to land with each other after practice and connect with the Move in the Mystery community
This space is for you if:
• You’ve attended 8+ Latihans
• You’re grounded in the basics: slowness, attunement, self-responsibility, boundaries, surrender
• You’re beginning to feel how allllll of life is actually Latihan
• You are ready for more time in practice, more depth, more reverence, more Mystery
What do y’all mean by “Church”?
We acknowledge that this word holds a charge for some, whether positive or painful. In this context, we reclaim the word “church” as:
✨A sacred space for communion with the divine
✨A spiritual assembly of devoted seekers
✨A place of worship, reflection, and reverence
✨A threshold where the human intertwines with the holy
✨Not a place of dogma or rules—but of direct experience and reverent listening
✨A space where the Mystery is not explained, but felt, encountered, and surrendered to
Payment:
• $40 paid in advance through Humanitix
• *We will no longer be offering at-the-door ticket sales for this event.
• **Humanitix is the ONLY place to purchase tickets for Church of the Mystery.
Please do not purchase tickets from individuals on Facebook claiming to resell—these are scams.
What to wear + bring:
✨Clothes you can move in (like what you’d wear to a yoga or dance class)
✨Knee pads (not required, but can be nice)
✨A hair tie or scrunchie if you have long hair
✨A water bottle
✨A blindfold will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own
✨Optional ~ an offering for the altar if you feel called. This could be an item that symbolizes your gratitude to the unfolding of the mystery, something representing a burden you desire to release, or an object you would like to imbue with holy energy to take back home with you.
Flow of the evening:
• 5:15-5:45pm ~ Arrival
• 5:45pm ~ Doors LOCK (no one will be admitted after this time) + invocation begins
• 6:00-7:15pm ~ Latihan practice
• 7:15-7:30pm ~ Sharing circle + closing
• 7:30-8:00pm ~ Integration + community connection
